Equity Residential Leads with LEDs
Equity Residential (EQR) is a Chicago-based real estate investment trust that owns over 400 properties in 14 states. Resound Energy and EQR started working together in 2011 to review their entire Seattle portfolio. In 2012, Resound Energy completed projects at six different buildings accounting for over $44,000 in annual energy savings at a combined payback of 10 months!
Harbor Steps Apartments is EQR’s most recognizable and premier property in Seattle—located just blocks from Pike Place Market and the waterfront. Resound Energy retrofitted their existing stairwell fixtures with LEDs throughout three towers—each with over 20 stories. Each of the fixtures were relamped with LED tubes after rewiring and removing the ballasts. The result is an even-output, clean neutral light.
“ The sales engagement was collaborative – exploring all options and working to find the one that was most financially viable for Equity. It was clear from the beginning that Resound Energy was interested in a partnership and not a high pressure sales strategy.”
— Jim Lancaster, VP of Construction for EQR
